Alert Fawn

I photographed this doe and her fawn on August 20, 2008, at 10:18 a.m. while they were eating pears in our back yard. Since they bolt at the slightest sound or movement, I photographed them through the bedroom window rather than from the deck. Even so, they sensed danger and took turns eating and standing guard. Thus, they were interacting with each other and their environment. Taking this photo was a challenge for me, since I had to limit my movements and my position. Light was an issue, too, since they were in shade but surrounded by mid-morning sunshine.

Thanks, Karu! I'm glad you like the image. The doe and her fawn were so delightful to watch as they took turns eating that I almost forgot to take pictures! #6436360Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
