Description

Sunset at the Cheyenne Bottoms Waterfowl Refuge in Central Kansas. I really enjoy taking sunset photographs, so I decided to try and apply a few tips from this course to the sunset. There was a wonderful huge sun interacting with the clouds, so I put the sun a little off center and then used cloudy white balance. I did experiment a little with the white balance settings and came up with some interesting colors using the tungsten setting. I noticed it brought out the blues and purples and made the water look almost like snow. I chose this white balance because the colors were so vivid.

Taken at 810 pm, camera in manual mode, f 5.6, ISO 100, 1/160 shutter speed, manual white balance, cloudy, no tripod, no flash.

Exif: F Number: 5.6, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/160 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 300.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi
