Pleasing the Eye

Description

1. The tonal contrast of white against dark of the "bloom" in foreground is the magnet that draws you into the picture.
2. The group of "blooms" is the center of interest with the one that is the focal point as the more dominant. The mind wants to closer study the details and type of plant.
3. I chose the lower right quadrant because all the stems of this plants naturally cascaded downward and the white part of the bloom was in sharp focus.
4. The main stem and the brown stems in the background (see red lines in diagram) are the leading lines.
5. The stem lines and the vertical leaves are the exits all blocked by the subject and the horizontal leaves.
6. Eye path is shown on the diagram.
