Gail, beautiful #968294

Debbie E. Payne July 27, 2008

As I remember, you live close enough to the beach to get these photos by walking down there, right? Oh....how lucky you are. This is so interesting with all the people doing slightly different things and the drama is amazing.

I could be wrong but it seems maybe a bit too balanced if you consider the people part of the black foreground. Since the sky is where the drama is and if you can crop a bit of the foreground out, it might even be more spectacular. If not, this is still a winner in my book. #6235871

Gail R. Schuett July 27, 2008

Stan..thanks!

Debbie,I uhderstand what you mean.thanks for the tip.I'm not the greatest cropper! I soppose I thought if I cropped more in the foreground it may appear too long?? I'll try that though..thanks! Gail #6235929

Dominick M. Dimacale level-addict July 27, 2008

This is beautiful, great silhouette.

Dominick #6236077

BEAUTIFUL image! #6236468

Barbara E. Sturgis July 27, 2008

Beautiful image!!!Gail. #6236590

Dale Hardin July 27, 2008

Gail this is absolutely lovely. The colors are wonderful and the silhouettes are perfect. I agree with Debbie that it needs a crop to better balance the image. At least 1/2 off the beach below the figures would be fine.

By the way, if you feel the crop would make your image too long you can always do a double crop and also crop either the left or right side as well but I think the panoramic view would be better. #6236594

Eugenio Diaz July 27, 2008

Fantastic dreamy like shot. I love the colours and the silhouettes. Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful, I love the layers and the way you place the setting sun.
Great work Gail! #6236603

Joan E. Hoffman July 27, 2008

I love both versions Gail, however the recrop, is stunning! With the first version I thought the people were on top of a hill (?). I will leave the balance of my comment on the re-cropped version. #6237221

Gail R. Schuett July 27, 2008

Hi Joan..i can't figure out why there are now 2 versions..i thought the photo was only for use on this thread..i'm still learning!!
the people are standing in front of a small breaker wall on the beach...thats why it looks like that...thanks for taking the time to view and comment.Gail #6237250

Laura E. Swan level-classic July 27, 2008

OK, I'm back with something to add. :) Ha!

I thought you were going to at least give us a long string of things that you did here. Layering pictures, adding tiny grey AURAS to the bodies, adding a heavy orange saturation...and this is what took me back the very most. That it was a "CROP ONLY!"

You didn't even add the SILVER LINING to the clouds. Just amazing. The whole thing. #6238393

Tammy L. Newcomb July 28, 2008

Gail, OMG this so freaken beautiful... I am so jealous...LOL..

You have captured an excellent moment and this picture is just perfect...

So beautiful and dramatic, nice work. #6241089

Irene Colling level-classic July 29, 2008

Very dramatic image Gail. But I agree that cropping the foreground would improve the photo. You want the emphasis to be on the sky and silhouettes so less black foreground would be better. #6246691
