Description

Gelmersee (or Lake Gelmer) is a lake in Bernese Oberland, Switzerland.


The lake can be reached by Gelmerbahn (funicular) from the base on the Grimsel Pass. The funicular's track with a length of 1,028 meters has a maximum inclination of 106% and is the steepest in the world.


I saw this small stack of rocks down by the lake and had to risk falling in and getting wet, but in the end I was very pleased with the capture. I added the top rock to make it a stack of four. It took my wife and I 3.5 hours to hike around the lake. ( including lunch break and time for photos)
