Absolutely amazing capture, Karen.

The DOF is superb, so your f/stop must have been small. Yet, you stopped the action well and maintained the sharpness and clarity with the bee, so your shutter speed must have been high.

Did you use a high ISO? And, did you use a HS flash to also help stop the action?

Were you focused on the stamen when the bee flew into view?

This looks like it was on a good tripod. Which head were you using?

Can you post the EXIF data?
