Description

Rule Of Thirds - Upper Left

Objective
Apply the Rule of Thirds to a bright orange hibiscus using the stamen as the focal point of the photo. Use the same photo but cropped differently.

About Photo
During my afternoon walk I noticed a beautiful orange hibiscus on a neighbor's patio. I was drawn not only to the flower color but the bright stamen that was yellow and a darker orange. Immediately I thought about the Rule of Thirds I had read about and thought this flower would be perfect to work with while learning and visualizing what a difference the Rule of Thirds can make in a photo. With this photo I chose the upper left intersection of a tic-tac-toe because I wanted to keep the stamen shadow in the photo. I like this photo not only because of the stamen placement but the vibrant colors nature has given us.
