Sunrise over dunes
Uploaded: November 29, 2004
Sunrise at Stovepipe Wells, Death Valley. There was a dust storm happening at the time, giving the great atmospheric effects and almost fog-like background.
Canon 17-40 F4L, at about 19mm. Combination of 3 exposures of the same scene for sand, sky and sunflare.

Great exposure, Gordon.Very sharp image, I love the sand blown ridge. How big was that "crater"? (no way to judge without something to provide size perspective)
Very nicely seen. ..mike ;-} #943830

Hi Michael, the front ridge is probably about 100m long from left to right. I might post some later with people in them, for scale. #943868Paul C. Gazzanigo November 29, 2004
