Patrick, I'm so envious of your G9 with all the outstanding captures so much sharper and clearer than my EOS shots...or is it simply because you are so talented and exceptional at post processing? You are an amazing photographer. How do you produce such great work without using high tech programs? Picasa?wow, Patrick, you have some great talent, thanks for sharing. #6018114

Patrick Rouzes level-classic June 04, 2008

Thank you again, everyone!!!
Reynaldo, I do like the G9 for close ups & I appreciate your compliments also. I am beginning to think I have a steady hand too, lol, for I do not have a tripod. I hope to get one soon. Every shot is handheld. If it sounds like I am bragging well maybe I am a little but I do not usually do that. I usually put myself down and downplay my abilities but am trying to learn not to do that.
Again, thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!! #6018138

Patrick- Good evening my friend. Hope all is well for you. You certainly have taken the dandelion to a new level. This would compete against any rose for beauty. Who knew that the lowly dandelion, that thing people are always trying to kill in their yards could actually have such stunning beauty? This fabulous macro shows that nothing we look at as photographers should be overlooked. There is alot of marvelous things to see if we take the time to.
DOF is sensational as is the composition. Colors so alive and they pop. The presentation is awesome. Lighting superb. Details that hone in on the fabulous features of the dandelion with perfection. You took a weed and elevated it to the status of a rose with your amazing talents.
A winner as far as I'm concerned.
Master level work
I to apologize for not getting back to your works sooner. Guess we all get busy, but must remember the support of each other.
You take care my friend. Have a wonderful night, a day of laughter and joy tomorrow. #6024463

AWESOME Patrick. Question, when I use Picasa shrpening, I get it to sharp. Is there an adjustment to it or have I got an older (free of web) version? #6033776

Patrick Rouzes level-classic June 08, 2008

Thank you for the encouragening comments, everyone!!!

Eileen,I have the older free version of Picasa. I will try my best to describe so I hope you can understand. I find that with Picasa the sharpening tool will only sharpen a slightly "off" or "slightly blurrd" shot. If it is blurrd a bit too much then the sharpening tool woll not correct it & it will only add noise to the shot. I also find that if you do not get the sharpness after ONE touch of the sharpening tool then it will just cause noise & more blurring. I also think the the more pixels your camera has the bigger the chance of sharpening without noise. So what I am say is that Picas will not sharpen a blurred shot unless it is only "off" the slightest bit. Now I am repeating myself so Ill leave it there. Pls let me know if you understand this or if it is of any help to you. If not I will try another explanation, lol. Boy, that's long winded but im not, lol. Let me know & have a nice day, Eileen!!! #6034057

Patrick Rouzes level-classic June 08, 2008

Oh, eileen, I am not sure of what you mean about "getting it too sharp". Is that what you are trying to achieve- sharpness?
Maybe your def. of sharp is different that mine. #6034071
