Quaint
Uploaded: May 30, 2008
Englebert Grimm, a German immigrant, sold and repaired watches, clocks and jewelry for 45 years in this late 1880’s shop. The shop was originally located on Michigan Avenue in Detroit, from 1886 until 1931. Henry Ford was a frequent watch repair customer. He purchased the building after Mr. Grimm’s death and restored to its late-1880’s appearance. It was moved to historic Greenfield Village in Dearborn MI (where the Henry Ford Museum is also located) for all to enjoy.
I used Nik Color Efex to tweak tonal contrast, and also used very slight poster edges. I used a sky from another image to replace the blown out sky in this shot.

Deb, I think your handling here is just right and quite terrific. A great presentation. All I can think of, when I think of their moving this building, is bricks, bricks falling out everywhere, but it seems they did it successfully. #6015082Joannie Bertucci June 05, 2008
