Nice old-time image Mary! Back in the mid-fifities it was 25 cents a gallon in Colorado with full service (the attendent washed the windows, checked the tires, oil and raditor) and then he gave you a drinking glass to collect. I guess the big down side was the cars didn't have cup holders :0) I always carried an extra rotar for my 50' Ford. Every now and then the rotar would break when firing up the 100hp V8 and I'd have to open the hood and open the distributor cap and replace the rotar. Gosh how times have changed!! #5925522

Great scene Mary. I hate to see those stations disappear, just like the old drive-in movies.

I remember also in the early seventies it was 25 cents a gallon for a while. At that time, I was living in London and it was over 2£ ($2.50). I guess it's all relative, but in the Netherlands, I am paying three times as much as in American. Count thy blessings. #6373519
