Description

This granitic quartzite bedrock has been smoothed into soft curves and channels by eons of flowing, and exposed after a change of the river's course. Since exposure, colorfu lichens have covered nearly every surface. The scene reminded me of an aerial photograph of an arid landscape, with the rock fractures appearing as watercourses, and the lichens as vegetation. In reality the image area is just a few feet on each side.

Exif: F Number: 16, Exposure Bias Value: -0.70, ExposureTime: 1/320 seconds, Flash: reserved, ISO: 200, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 60.00 mm, Model: E-3
