The Red Mountains

Description

Along Red Mountain Pass between Silverton and Ouray, there are actually three of these mountains. Here you have just a bit of Red Mountain #1 at the left of the pano. In the middle is Red Mountain #2, and near the right is Red Mountain #3. I find them to be such striking peaks, especially in fall and with a sugar coating of snow on the top.

Congratulations on being a finalist Jan.
I too, have had the priviledge of photographing these mountains in 1984...Spectacular scenery...If not mistaken, it's just off the "Highway paved with gold" as the locals call it.
Good luck to you. #37212

Thanks, everyone. Yes, Albert, this highway has a lot of names. Sometimes it's called "The Million Dollar Highway," other times "Red Mountain Pass." There is something spectacular to see around every curve. #37550
