Thanks Leanne! I was out to shoot the Lunar eclispe, but it was too cloudy, so I got this police couple (male & female) instead. (smile)

Wow! This is amazing editing. I'd love to know how you did it. #884257

Thanks for the nice comments, Dianne & Steve.

Steve, actually there wasn't much editing to be done with this pic. I ususally work in 16 bit for color management and then convert back to 8 bit for the rest of the editing.

However, because this was shot at night with available light and had a sepia tone cast, all I had to do was to apply a poster edges filter, fade back to about 50% and sharpen. (nik sharpener pro)

The picture itself was composed in the camera, so no cropping was neccessary and the slow shutter speed gave the officers the effect of motion.

Thanks again you guys! (smile)

PS Steve, also some use of the curves tool also to deepen the shadows and officers uniforms.

Thanks Norm, I would never have guessed poster edges. After visiting your gallery I can see that you've really mastered the use of filters, and that it involves more than just a simple click and settling for what ever you get. Thanks for sharing your techniques. I'm already experimenting. Steve #885516

Description

The two young rookies, a male and a female, walked past, side by side. Their newness betrayed by their ill fitting uniforms, like two kids wearing their parents clothes and playing grownup. Spying something bright and shiny in the window, youthful exuberance bust forth in exclamation... "hey look at that!" / God bless you, I whispered after them knowing that in a years time all that innocence would be gone.
