Thanks Lorie!
We had fantastic weather today; the sun finally came out and it was warm like in September. So I went fast and caught some shadows ;-).
With the submissions that must be a coincidence :-)
Thanks again!

coincidence yes, you were chasing shadows and I was chasing stars, sounds like a good title doesn't it. I have a hard time getting shadows, first I have had to learn to actually really see the ones that will stand out on film, often what I see I have a hard time making the camera see, especially in black and white but I'm getting better, one time I was at the observetory in Hollywood, Griffith Park, and all the trees had these wonderful shadows they were casting down, almost how like when clouds shape forms you know? so I started taking black and white pictures but they just never came out looking anything like what I saw, and of course the only day I had black and white film only was the day you could see all the way to catalina island from up there. #25056

Bob and Robert, thank you so much for the comments on my photo!

Lorie, I started taking pictures in black and white (many years ago). My favorite subjects were trees and shadows. Sometimes I got what I wanted, sometimes I didn’t. But generally I had a great time, especially in the darkroom, where I spent many hours waiting for the effects ;-). That was “something”! In the last few years I was shooting with my Nikon N60 and I had some nice pictures in black and white, but mostly they were too bright or too dark. During those years when I was too busy and I couldn’t find time for photography, I totally forgot how to use a camera! So I started learning everything from the beginning, and I’ll probably never stop doing this.
Right now I’m using a digital camera and many things are easier. My darkroom is in my computer and my hands don’t get wet anymore ;-).
I wish you the best, Lorie!

Thanks Monika, I'm off to a Ca. Ghost Town/Gold Mining Desert today for photos, Randsburg, I love shooting in this place, it will be a first for digital photography for me, I just aquired the X4900 Kodak with zoom and I can't wait to get out there and start shooting again, I love the desert, have a great week.
