Fishing at the Lake

Uploaded: January 30, 2008

Description

Tried to use the theory that Color can create dominance. I was out a half hour before sunset at the Lake Ponchartrain to make some photos for the lesson when the bright colors of the angler's clothes caught my attention. There is a little bit of humor in the photo, as one can see the angler holding on to his cap so that it won't get blown off his head! I tried to frame the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway in the top end to keep a logical boundary for the photo. The broken concrete is an eyesore but is a necessary evil... it protects the lake shore from erosion. In this case, it provided for some texture, perhaps a little too much for my liking. The angler is at the top third point, while is fishing rod and the peninsula jutting out completes the right hand side. The reflection makes up the lower left hand of the photo. However, there is a lot of dead space in the lower right of the photo, and I tried a couple of crops to get rid of them, but I liked the "big picture".
