Thank you very much, Lisa!! When rainy day continues (for two long weeks!), it's time for digital darkroom. I have to inspire myself :) #5415901

Most excellent photo master Mizuno! I am guessing the perspective motion filter is on a top layer and the facial area was carefully erased to allow the detail layer to peek through :) Very nice and certainly some of my favorite subject matter as you know. #5416461

Alex T. Mizuno January 30, 2008

Thank you for your wonderful comment, Steven! Your expert guess is wrong for the first time. I used Radial Blur. But you are right about erasing. I could have been more careful with the use of the eraser :) #5416502

Steven E. Ray January 30, 2008

Actually, I used the generic descriptive term "perspective motion filter" because I didn’t know exactly which filter accomplished this, whereas several exist that can achieve this effect ;) Your careful erasing is very precise, whereas I don't see how it could have been done better. The edits remove the "cold statue" look and gives it life! #5416600

Alex T. Mizuno January 30, 2008

Please forgive my ignorance. Yes, motion blur is within that broad category. I'm trying to be a perfectionist, but the reality is, I'm still far from that. I really could have been more meticulous. But hey, don't look too close. Just kidding. Thank you for your kind comment again. I tried to add warmth by adjusting the color balance. #5416656

Outstanding, creative DD work, Alex! I wouldn't be surprised to see this with a winner's badge on it! Looks like we won't have consistent sun until next week, so I'm going into the digital darkroom myself. :) #5428148

Alex T. Mizuno February 03, 2008

Hi Colleen, thank you for your kind words!! Another week of rain---sigh. But, like you say, it's the best time for digital darkroom. I have to dig out some old photos from my shoe boxes :)
