Description

This is an image of a Araneus Diadematus - orb-weaver spider, shot in Aurora, Oregon assembled with a flower shot at the Painted Hills, in Central Oregon.

The effect is created by running the Fractalius plug-in on both the flower and the spider. The spider was then duplicated and mirrored.

A June 2008 Editors First Pick.

Wonderful use of the Fractalius Filter, it's becoming very popular and I have enjoyed endless hours playing around with it to see what type of effects that I can get. I am like a child in a candy store.
Very Nice!

Thank you all for the compliments. I have to admit that is is a fun filter that makes some pretty cool effects, but I do not want to over use it. :) I want it to stay 'special'. Thanx again! #5409294

I agree about Fractalius, but I do think you chose good subjects and composition for it's use. This is colorful and has great interest value. Good work. #5980162

I did a couple to see what all the fuss was about - and it is kind of cool. At the moment, Fractalius seems to be the filter dejour at BetterPhoto. :) #5980185
