Description

Brookside Garden butterfly arboretum. Nikon D100 with 60mm macro Nikkor lens, unknown settings. Morpho butterflies close their wings when they light, so I blew gently on this specimen to get him to display.

Thank you Kathleen. I'm new here to the site and this was my first photograph posted. The Brookside Garden butterfly arboretum, outside Washington, D.C., was a wonderful place to try out the new macro lens. #811482

Thanks Ellen. Having spent years with wide angles and long lenses doing mostly landscapes and travel photography, I'm really enjoying exploring macro photography. The Nikkor 60mm has been a real treasure. #850771
