Thank you all so much for your kind words and comments. Flamingo Gardens is a bird sanctuary in Davie, Florida (West Ft. Lauderdale). They rehabilitate hurt animals, mainly birds, and those that can go out in the wild again. Those that can't are permanent residents and quiet used to humans. They are in a pond where you can even feed them - up close and personal! On the grounds is a huge aviary with egrets, herons, pelicans, ducks, etc... They will breed them and return the young to the wild to keep up the population, specially of the endangered wood stork. If you go to our website, a lot of our cherished pictures were taken at Flamingo Gardens. We have a yearly pass since we love it so much and frequent as often as we can.
