The Rattler

The only thing between me and this fellow was a highly trained snake handler and my camera. I was maybe 5 feet from him with both of us being on the floor. No cage, no glass. What an experience!

Rhonda,Great portrait of the snake. The composition is wonderful and the dark background fits in perfectly with the subject.

Are you insane???? Good grief woman, it's a poisonous snake!!!! Dang, you really DO want to be a professional! Great shot, but you gave me the heebie jeebies on this one. What happened to the sweet little pretty birds?Rhonda Maurer May 26, 2019
Bob,Ruth,
Oh Ruth bless your heart! You have brought a smile to my face. I was thinking on my way home today that when I post one of the snake photos that I had just taken you would say where is the cute little birds! I am sorry, I guess it is that wild streak in me:-)Don't worry, I will probably be back to the sweet little pretty birds tomorrow:-) I did have Cedar Waxwings visit the yard yesterday and managed to get off a few shots before the Robins ran them off, so I am keeping a close eye out for them. Stay tuned!
Thanks again you two.

Rhonda--all I can say is you are a braver woman than I am. I would have been shaking so hard the snake would have been very blurry. Nice shot. #21299Carol Sherman May 26, 2019

I think this could be classified as an adrenalin shot! I think I would have used the timer and put the camera on the end of a stick for this one!Excellent composition and detail though...great shot!
