Description

In loving memory of Mickey Dog. My Dad brought him home back in 1994 on the day I was coming home for Christmas, and named him Mickey (Mic Dog) after me. And, now, we are full circle - back home visiting and Mickey is on his way to heaven.

Thank you Doc. I appreciate your comment, and I am sorry for your loss too. It's been sad here, even though he was a generally quiet dog, it feels more quiet in his absence. We know he's in a better place, but somehow it doesn't take away the sting. Time heals... #5269598

He is just Gorgeous!! I am so sorry for your loss, our pets mean alot to us.. In case you have never read this I wanted to include this poem..

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

You know how much I love this! You did such a wonderful job on the PS.
I am so sorry for your family's loss. I know how hard it is. As I told you, my dog Sandy, was 18 when we had to put her down. I had her since I was 2.
Just know that Mic's in heaven & there is no pain or sorrow there & he can run free.

Thank you so much Sue, Susie, Bob, Peaches, Datha, Shelly, Cheryle, Michelle, Heather, Kara, Justin, Sherry and Alexis - your words are a great comfort during this difficult time. My family and I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I read my Mom many of your thoughts, and you had us both in tears. It's a wonderful thing to know so many people care, and so many others love their animals too.

I wish you all the best in this coming New Year! My family and I head back to Texas tomorrow and I hope to get caught up on commenting when I get home (does anyone want to come pack up my Christmas tree and decor?).
