Thanks Damian and it was the camera that died, though the cattail might die this week from the cold here now. Good news though, I have the extended warranty from Best Buy and they will be giving me a voucher for the original cost of the camera that I will use to get the upgraded version of the 707, the 717, which is coming out this month. #16287

Thanks everyone and when the 717 finally came in, Best Buy told me that employee was wrong that I needed to send my camera in and let the company fixing it to decide if it should be replaced. Since Sony was responsible for parts and Best Buy for labor, it was fixed. It works great except for one minor problem that isn't worth taking back to lose for at least two weeks during the holidays, there is dust in the view finder only. Doesn't affect the lcd and images so will live with it for now. #22888
