Karen, great shot! You’ve got your subject up close, with side light, on a third, with no distractions. You’ve used everything we’ve learned so far. Good job! It shows.

Everything in the background tells us more about our surfer and the lighting on the rocks adds drama and depth. Great pose too, with his friendly gesture of greeting; the curve of his hip, the angle of the board and his shadow on it all point to his face, the center of attraction. The diagonal surf line and bit of rock on the left keep the top and left sides interesting. Very well done! #747082
