Gorgeous image Lisa!! So dramatic that I thought it was a stage photo at a glance. The tone and lights are very effective. #4616745

Hello Lisa,
I think you found your stars :-) What do you think yourself? What do you think yourself of your nightshots? Are you happy with the result or are you looking for .... I don't know.. just wondering what you think about your nightshots compared to where you started from.
I like this one too, but I would say try also the HDR and see what happens, compare a single shot with a hdr result. Think hdr will give you a more evenly exposed shot. Best wishes from rainy holland, Corné #4626964

Corne,
I'm pretty happy with those stars, and I really owe a lot of them to you! Being relatively new to photography, the tips you gave me a few months back really helped!
Regarding this image (not one of my favorites, but went along with my Niagara series and I like the subject matter.): Late at night, from where I was perched, it was so dark you could barely see this dock and the boats. I set up the camera for a long exposure, (with a small aperture--I wanted those STARS--and an increased EV) and VOILA, I could see the details of the scene!
Regarding HDR, I'm going to have to get Photomatix one of these days. Tried the HDR feature in CS2, but did not get good results (maybe it was human error on my part.)
I'll be vacationing in San Francisco the end of this month. I look forward to capturing the Golden Gate Bridge at night-- and capturing those stars!!!
Thanks for visiting, Corne, and for the helpful pointers!
