Thanks so much, Guy! I am so complimented by your post! My friend thought I was crazy to bring my camera on a kayak but I say camera bodies are disposable. The lens is a different story! Thanks so much for the smile! #621452

...and I'm glad that you still remember me:-) I have won many finalists but not one second place yet! That I'm not too happy about but as you've already noticed, I don't give up! Have a nice evening! #625077

Dolores Neilson June 30, 2004

Of course I remember you!! HOw can I forget you! I know it's frustrating to not win at the level you feel you deserve...I truly understand. I have experienced that at many sites myself. But do think on this (and remind ME when I'm feeling down about my wins): When I started, submissions were approx. 4000....that was two years ago. Now....the contest is over 12,000! So the standards are higher with amateurs and professionals competing...much harder to make a win than say a year ago. Word has gotten around, I guess. But try not to feel bad...it's harder for EVERYONE. I know it's not making 2nd place win but making finalist is still a big honor considered that you're picked out of that many. Chin up and don't give up! #625157

Dolores, I think you have some great shots submitted here this month, and this is another one. Your kayaker's point of view really makes the shot! Great job!

HI Patrick! Thank you for your complimentary post! The water seems very calm but I just couldn't keep my kayak steady for composition so I asked my husband to butt his up against mine...the kayak, I mean ;). It was a nice trip on FAther's Day that we all enjoyed. THanks so much!

Hi Kathleen! Thank you very much! It always a pleasure to hear from you!

Hello Susana! Many thanks for posting your compliment! I appreciate it so much! #636122
