Very nice. Having two different color flowers helps catch the eye. #593091

Thankyou!

I was also very lucky to capture them like this for two reasons - the day happened to be relatively grey (unlike today!) and these flowers only stay in bloom for 3-4 days. Right place at the right time I suppose :-) #593102

John - Very unique combination. Makes for a great shot. The two different flowers make for a very eye catching photo. Great work! Sharon #593131

Thankyou to ALL that left me notes of congratulation! I'm honoured (and humbled when I see the quality of the pictures in your galleries!) to have had one of my photos chosen :-)

Michael, about the edits - I probably shouldn't say this, but I didn't use PS! I use PSP7 :-) And the edits were actually very simple: using a hue/saturation/lightness layer I reduced the overall saturation by about 1/4; this left the colours in the flowers but made everything else more or less grey. I then added a curves layer to tweak the colours back into the flowers (which had turned a little dull) and darken the water (which had gone a murky grey.) And believe it or not, this was actually the first time I experimented adjustment layers!

When I have a moment to create my new (!) member page I'll upload the original to show the differences.

Again, thankyou to everyone!! John. #659671
