Beautiful tones, Marija. Don't know how I feel about the off-center subject placement though. How did you expose for this? Looks like a deliberate overexposure, am I right? Trying to learn how to do this! #8623

Very effective.... Colour wouldn't have worked... #13416

Hi Piper & Damian. Thank you for your comments.
And Piper, original shot was in color, turned into grayscale in PS and then with some level adjustments I gained that final (overexposed) look. #13768

Just with some level adjustments and you get such a beautiful photo! At first I thought you had to have a black background. Can you explain to me more, please? Thanks! #125156

Hi Tracy! Sorry for the late answer. I will try to explain. There was no actual black background.. This photo was taken by window light in the late afternoon and only the subject was lit. The rest of the room stayed dark. In original color shot can be seen some small lighter areas on the left , but they almost disappeared with levels adjustments. The spots that remained visible I darkened with burn tool in PS. I think that's it.. #139885

I love this photo! The positioning of the child is great; I love the b/w! The expression on her face, her ruffled hair, and bare shoulders all add to the feel of the photo; which is fantastic! Such a cool shot, Marija!!! #934154

Hey, I know I'm a little late but I was just looking around to try to learn something from peoples photos when I came across this. I looked at it and was just like, wow. It really hits you hard I think. Take care! #1049313
