SUPER photo Liz. I love it. How great you gave him a treat, the red strawberry really adds to this.
Good thing you had your camera with you too. You just never know what's going to come along. #674400

Thank you Derek! I too love the wild animals! I'm sure you have some very interesting wildlife in Ontario, Canada! #4406950

Great image Elizabeth! The berry really brightens up the image being the grass and the tortoise are both brown. I took a photo of the gopher that lives across the street from us and got the same brn grass and brn tortoise, but he had one tiny sprig of grass in his mouth, not quite as colorful as your berry! I really like these tortoises, and I am always helping them get safely across the street! #4406994

Love this shot, Elizabeth. Good thing you always carry the camera and know how to use it so well! I'm from Ontario, Canada also and can confirm Dereks observation. We do have little sea turles though and you kind of gave me some ideas...;) #4407450

Good morning!! Thank you Carol & Joerg!
Carol I am constantly stopping to be the crossing guard for these guys. Here in Alabama the Gopher turtles are protected by law. To many were being killed by farmers and there burrows were being destroyed by the clearing of land for the development of new homes for the growing population. The Numbers have greatly increased since the law was passed.(Thank goodness!)
Joerg, I am so envious of you! We don't have sea trutles close by. I have to drive at least two hours to get to the golf shores. I do love the ocean and hope to capture a shot of those wonderful creatures!!
"God has blessed us with so many beautiful creatures.. It is our responsibly to watch over and protect them as best we can!"
I do hope you both have a wonderful Day! #4413116

Hey Elizabeth, a two hour drive to the golf shores does not seem so bad! Those little sea turtles I was mentioning are about that far from our house. We have a little cabin up north by a lake called "Turtle Lake" . It's paradise, but we hardly ever get to go, because we're too busy. That's life! You too have a great day! #4414612
