Hi Susan: I definitely agree with everyone ... a well-deserved congratulations ... this is a terrific image! In fact, this shot makes an awesome selection for BetterPhoto's monthly "Where in the World?" quiz. It will be featured in the August issue of BP's PhotoFlash newsletter!

So please don't give it away, Susan ... let's see if anyone can come up with the correct answer! Several days after PhotoFlash is published, I'll check back to see how things are going.

Again, Susan, congrats on your excellent photo. And, for everyone else, have fun guessing where this scene can be found!

This is so cool! I hadn't seen this till now, but I took a similar picture (in my gallery) of a street in our small town! I swear I didn't see this first.

Where in the world? I'm guessing Vermont because of the barn, but I know they have barns like that elsewhere. I can't tell about the flowers, that may be the giveaway. Soooo I'll just stick to Vermont. Good luck everyone!! #689189

Kelly Abernathy level-classic August 05, 2004

Clueless on the location, but still definite that I love the shot. Beautiful! Congrats on your selection to the newsletter! -K #689496

There are two locations that come to mind from my travels. There are areas of central California that look very like this--specifically I'm thinking of the I5 corridor just outside of Visalia, CA, with the Sierra Nevadas off in the distance. On the other hand, this also reminds me of some of the farm areas close to the coast in Washington State, where we live now. As I'm writing, a third area comes to mind. We've traveled from Wyoming down through Colorado, heading for New Mexico, and there are areas through there that also have the farms in the forefront and the hazy mountains in the distance...not sure about the fields of flowers, though. Whatever the area, this is a beautiful shot, which makes me want to get on the road again! Thanks for the lovely image. :-) #689531

Kerry Drager August 11, 2004

Hi again! Excellent guesses, everyone, and thanks so much for taking part in BetterPhoto's Where in the World quiz.

The correct answer: Washington state! The specifics from Susan: Ferndale, "a small community of around 3,000, just outside of Bellingham, WA, or approximately 25 miles from the Canadian/U.S. border."

Again, Susan, this is such a wonderful image ... keep up the fine work!
