Great detail of the Rothchild's giraffe pattern. Do yo know when they got this pair? I haven't been there since they were in the process of remolding the zoo. I have been told that now that the zoo has been remolded I wouldn't know it. I am so glad LA didn't lose the zoo.Pamela K June 06, 2007
Thanks!I've actually only been to the LA Zoo once... My brother is currently residing nearby so we went while I was visiting him. Their website actually says they have Masai giraffes not Rothchild's, but I wouldn't know the difference myself.... There were also a pair of twins there, so they've had them nat least long enough for them to give birth.
I don't know what it looked like before they remodeled it, but it looks great now! Lots of twists and turns and a ton of really nice exhibits. Many with good photo opportunities that have moats rather than mesh cages. I had fun while there!

Very cool photo---almost as though the giraffe backed up to a mirror for you! Nice exposure and detail---have been seeing this on Editor's First Picks. #4373606Kay E. Mahoney June 06, 2007

Thats wonderful Pam....Pamela K August 22, 2007
Thank you, Rahul!!! I think (if I remember rightly) that they were actually both feeding off of a tree that overhung their pen... However, feel free to interpret it how you like. :-)Pam #4682658
