I got down nice and low to capture this puppy eating (sort of) his food. He seemed to be having a grand ol' time munching one then tossing another.

Wonderful job here, John. I love his ear over the edge of the bowl and the clarity of his fur--he just looks silky soft. Everything about this shot says puppy, from the scattered food to the over-sized bowl to the newspaper on the floor. Great job. #4369060

John, have you ever considered doing a calendar of all of your shelter animals and puppies' photos? I volunteer at my local humane society and we get a lot of pit bulls and every year a local photographer (and a fan of pit pulls) puts together a pit bull calendar that is sold at pet shops and vets to collect money for the shelter. It's a great cause and it spreads the word about our shelter. Plus it helps fix the bad stereotype the breed gets.

And Aleksandra, I have toyed with the idea of a calendar a few times. Happily, my photos have been used by the shelter in a variety of ways already, such as in ads & brochures, on the website, and in the magazine. It is a very rewarding outcome, to be sure! #4369655

John, this is so adorable! Such a simple image but it says so much! Reminds me of when I had puppies/dogs. We have been "dogless" now for about 11 years after I put to sleep a german shepherd. Since then, we have not lived in places where we could have a dog (apts, rented homes), so we just have 2 cats and 3 fish aquariums. I have a feeling on this one John! I am sure it will make it as a finalist/winner! Oh, and I have still not had the chance to show my hubby the train image at the museum although I told him about it (and he wasn't sure if he knew where it was). He is not a PC person. #4514386
