Hello Jim
Really liked this shot,the way the eye is drawn towards the shack by the use of colour.I also like the way the mountains in the background are in the mist as such.I think if the light gave more detail to the mountains,the photo would not have been so effective.A job well done as i`m sure you know. #2384

Great composition, and I love the lines as they fade to horizon. the colors are so soft and so alive as well. I think I can smell the lavender.

Hello there. I know that it is not wise for the tail to wag the dog, but here goes. I disagree with some the of comments regarding your photo.

Here's why...The image doesn't seem to have a clean Histogram. There isn't enough contrast in the 1/4 tones and the shadows. Also, the image seems to have a slight yellow cast.

Here is my version....please don't think badly of my thoughts. I'm just challenging the teacher like any good student would #48269

Hi Donnarae, no Bryan led me right to the location but gave me no filter, no protection from the bees, no nothing.

Actually, though, this was the trip where I met Susan and Neil Silverman, and I remember Neil showing me the blue/gold polarizer during this same trip. I showed one image shot with this warming polarizer at the recent Summit. It's one of those filters that can all-too-easily be abused but if you restrain yourself from overdoing it, the blue/gold polarizer can be a great tool.

Hi Jim,
I've been visiting your wonderful gallery and had to stop here and comment. You've got so many outstanding and gorgeous images, but this one I have to bookmark and revisit. WOW, it is absolutely captivating!!!!
Regarding the comment about not having a clean histogram, histograms are useful but not artistic. The real quality of an image cannot be judged by a histogram.
