Stripey Reflection

Uploaded: April 23, 2004 03:23:32

Description

f/4, 1/170, ISO 200 w/2x teleconversion telephoto lens on sunny day with patches of shade around 11:15 a.m. Taken yesterday at the Basel Zoo as a zebra gets close to the water (for a tasty stick, not a drink). Shot some of zebra with reflection, then some of just his reflection. This was one of the "just reflection" shots. Shot as is with only a clarify at level one in PSP8 and a flip to turn the reflection upright.

Wonderful capture, Jan. I love what you've done with the effects. I love everything about this and particularly the reversed reflection to give a great interpretation of the entire scene. I think we'll be seeing this again in a few weeks. Magnificently done, my very dear friend. And thank you for the explanation which is helpfull to realize the amount of work that goes into something like this - Allan #498015

Thanks for all the wonderful comments, K, Rob, Diane, Charlene, Colette, Donna, Allan, Debra, and Paul! I greatly appreciate them! This photo was actually quite simple with very little digital manipulation. I flipped it 180 to make it more comfortable to view (since the way it was shot made it look like he was standing on his head) and the clarify just makes the darks a tad darker and the lights a tad lighter, depending on the level you choose - 1 being the mildest and 5 being the most extreme. I used a 1 here. That was it... Probably one of the simpler photos with the neatest outcome I have posted:-) #498071
