Really unique composition. I like your use of negative space. If this were mine, I would've cropped off the left side. This would eliminate the annoying black dot. Also, centered images generally aren't desirable-- it's nice to have the subject off to the side ("rule of thirds").

Also... in the original photo, did you get any more of the boy's body? He feels a little chopped off... I think it'd be nice to see a little more of his torso in the photo.

This is a very interesting capture... the activity is very interesting.
