Roxie Guilhamet level-classic March 10, 2007

Hi Don, what a dramatic example of side-lighting! I really like the diagonal black shadow line along your chin, the curved fold lines in your hood echoed in your forehead and hair, and how one side of your face blends into darkness. I like the background too, dark, warm, with texture that I can’t really make out. This would make a great movie poster or record cover; it’s got a strong, clear mood, and there’s room for text or image of a “thought” in the top right corner.

For a stand-alone photo, though, that much empty space is begging for something. And the sweatshirt is a tad too bright. In framing, I think I would have included all of your chin. This is definitely worth trying again. It’s a great shot. #618601
