Risking life and limb for a photo.... tsk tsk tsk.
Great job, though ;-)
You've got the leading line of the train veering off and taking my eye to the snowy peaks.
Very nice bright color and effect.
Nicely done, Patricia.

Patricia Marroquin 4/1/2004 12:17:55 AM

Allan, Bill, Cathy, Barbara, Terry, Susan P., Ronald, Susan E., Darren and Carol, thank you very much! It was nice to come home after work to your nice comments.

Allan, I am so honored to become an "honorary Canadian"! I think Canada is a beautiful country with friendly people. I would love to go back to Victoria some day plus see more of your wonderful country. Eh! (I have a souvenir T-shirt that says "Eh!" on it).

Susan, I wasn't hanging out the window; I was outside of the train car on those landings between cars. There were a bunch of us out there with our cameras. In fact, sometimes those other photographers were getting in my pictures, which I wasn't too happy about. I was really frightened about leaning out trying to take the photos so after a while I gave my film SLR to my husband and had him go out and take some. :-) #457375

Allan L. Whitehead 4/1/2004 3:51:51 AM

Patricia, I'm glad you enjoyed youe time in Canada. I'm enclosing a couple of pix showing another great train trip in Canada. Its called the Agawa Canyon and its a tourist trip from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario 3 hours into the wilderness and stops for 2 hours in the Agawa Canyon so you can walk around. Its fantastic in the fall when the leaves have changed. This was from my trip in October '03 and it was a little early. I hopr you enjoy them - Allan #457430

Patricia Marroquin 4/1/2004 12:50:03 PM

Allan, thank you for posting these images, they're beautiful! I took a similar shot to the trestle image you've posted. It was awesome to look back and see the train on the raised tracks like that. Would love to take the Agawa Canyon trip someday! :-) #458458

Description

One of the highlights of our Alaskan cruise trip last year was a rail ride through the Canadian Yukon. Had to hang out of the train to capture this as we neared a curve. Overcast day. Simplifier filter applied in PS Elements.
