Wow Steve what a beautiful image, I would never have thought of buzzing the Taj, this is gorgeous work! #3796487

Steve M. Harrington January 08, 2007

Thanks very much, Randy, Remi and Lynne.

I think the Taj is the world's most beautiful building, and I got nice photographs of it on a number of occasions. Yet none of them ever quite captured the exquisite lightness and balance I felt when seeing it. Then I tried Buzzing it while playing around and decided I was a little closer to conveying what it is like.

This is graphically terrific. And the buzz effect is absolutely right for it. And the birds. Well. Beautiful. #3796658

Steve M. Harrington January 08, 2007

Thank you, Mitch. I've heard a number of people put down the Buzz filter as a gimmick, but there are times when it serves well.

Very beautiful, Steve! I just did a search on the buZZ filter because it's a "toy" I'd like to get and I came across your photo. Of course, the buZZ wouldn't have done much if you hadn't had a great image to begin with--well done! #3826810

Thank you for your comment, Joan. I did get around a fair bit, but I'm afraid the days of some of most cherished travel, India and Southeast Asia, are over. However, there's plenty to see nearer home. :)

Steve, congrats on your finalist! I especially love the colors and effects! #3992084

Steve M. Harrington February 25, 2007

Thanks Carol. To tell the truth, I had two similar images from that morning. The one you see had the superior tones and hues. The other had the three birds, which I felt added so much to the symbolism I was after. Obviously, I used the best of each image.

The story of Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz and the building of the Taj is one of the world's great love stories.
