Description

A fun one here - removed bubbles, added fairies and pixie dust!
For the fairies I photographed figurines under the same lighting conditions as the kids and resized them for this image.

This is enchanting, Jane. I could see it on the cover of a book of children's stories. I love the expressions on their faces: your daughter, in her young innocence, is captivated by the fairies while your son's gaze seems slightly more mature--as if he is taking as much pleasure from his sister's delight as from these magical figures themselves. What a lovely 1st place winner! #4328703

Jane M November 26, 2007

Thanks everyone, just found an older version of this photo where I said how the fairy dust was done:

1) Used clone tool to remove bubbles
2) Took new photograph of fairy figures in exact same lighting conditions as for original photo.
3) Selected fairy in new photo using lasoo tool, and used move tool to move it to the main photo which causes a new layer to be created with just the fairy in it.
4) Used the move tool to select the fairy then dragged in the corner points to scale it to the right size and move it to the right position.
5) Used the paintbrush tool (spatter brush) with color selected to match fairies dresses to make dust trails.
6) Then used star brush to make stars around faires, varying the size and colors
7) Used the star brush on a very large setting on a layer underneath the fairy layers to create background glow around the fairies.
8) Adjusted brightness/contrast/sharpness on the fairy layers to match original photo.

Hope my daughter enjoys it when she's older!
