Hi there Len! What a GREAT capture - you caught that tongue perfectly! You also managed to get the focus just right on the eyes...in that moment you had to grab this shot! That is certainly a face that only a mother could love, don't you think?! I'm sure you were puckering up in response to that tongue and those inviting lips? - NOT!!!! I can understand why you were relieved that he/she was friendly! This shot is a case in point for carrying your camera wherever you go, isn't it?!

Len, like Karen Lewis, my husband Phil and I also live in Oz - but our location is half-way down the western side of Lake Macquarie (just south of Newcastle), in NSW! We are also enjoying your series of shots taken in Sydney, when you were on R&R from Viet Nam/Vietnam in February 1969! This month has special meaning to us Len, as we were married in February 1969 - (as you would be well aware this would mean that!) we celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary on 4th February this year! We will look forward to seeing more of your old Sydney shots Len! #523840

Hello again, Carolyn! Sorry I missed this earlier but for some reason I never received a notification. About the shot....I was already focused on him but he was looking away, so I called to him. As he turned his head, I snapped the shutter - he just happened to give that little lick when he did!

On the subject of his extreme good looks - I think if I had a dog that looked like that, I would put the collar on the other end and make him walk backwards!! - And I don't even think a mother could love that face!

As far as carrying the camera goes, I make a point of taking it with me everywhere. There has been too many times over the years that I regretted not having it with me. I surely would have missed this shot and the one I've labeled "Rescued!" and countless others.

I'll have to dig out my atlas and see exactly where you are located...I'm really getting a load of info about Oz here and I love every bit of it!!

Congratulations to you and Phil, Carolyn, for being together for 35 years. I think that's fantastic!!!

Again, I want to thank you for this wonderful response to my gallery. I really appreciate it!

Best Regards,
Len #527084

This is PRICELESS, Len! I enjoyed & chuckled at your reponse to my friend, Carolyn!! It seems the "accidental" pics seem to get a BIG response! THIS IS WONDERFUL! #2127166
