Door to the Past

Description

** Won Best Pictures of the Month Award 4/04 @ photgraphy unlimited:-) ** Taken on overcast day with white balance set for shade. Used UV and polarizer for more brilliant color. Picture is a castle door I visited while in Heidelberg, Germany. I added the speckled shadow pattern on part of the facade for some extra "zip" since the weather wouldn't provide it for me. Also cloned out a few twigs that were protruding into the frame. No flash used.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. Judy, the shadow pattern was done with a program by Auto FX called Mystical Lighting. It is great for adding atmosphere to photos like shadows, ethereal lighting, mist, etc. #384562

Ohmygosh! what a small world. I LIVE in Heidelberg. Imagine my surprise when I came upon this photo, when I have taken pictures of the same thing! I guess great minds think alike! I love going up there, the photo ops are endless, no matter what time of year. Amazing. do you still live in Germany? are you a 'family member'? if you are, you know what I mean. anyway, small world, great gallery you have, I hope to hear from you. #2250795
