Description

RAW, ISO 100, Lens 17-55 at 17 mm with a graduated neutral density filter mounted, Manual Mode, Pattern Metering, white balance set to cloudy, exposure set at f/22 for 30 second off a tripod. I walked around this fountain several times, trying to determine how I would take the picture. The fountain is lit only by the street lights. Consequently, it is 4-5 f/stops darker than the buildings. I added a couple of graduated neutral density filters to balance the lighting. In addition to the normal adjustments to set shadows/highlights and contrast of the mid-tones, I corrected the distortion of the buildings using the lens distortion filter in Photoshop. Overall, I like the final picture—the composition and lighting seem to work very well together.

Exif: FNumber: 22, ExposureBiasValue: 67/100, ExposureTime: 30, Flash: flash did not fire, ISO: 100, WhiteBalance: manual white balance
