Lady Greeting the Sunrise Description: RAW, ISO 100, Lens 17-55 at 24 mm with a polarizing filter mounted, Manual Mode, Pattern Metering, white balance set to cloudy, exposure set at f/22 for 1/4 second off a tripod. This is my bonus shot. After reading Jim’s comment about using the classical landscape technique in the city, I decided to submit this picture. The statue is about 10-12 feet tall and about 5-7 feet off the ground; consequently, I had to extend my lens to 24 mm in order to get the composition that I wanted. Unfortunately, there are some trees in front of the statue which cast some shadows over part of the statue. I tried using some fill flash to eliminate the shadows, but I did not like the results. I never thought of using this type of approach to cityscapes, but I really like it and plan to use it more in the future. Thanks, Jim. Uploaded on 11/4/2006 6:47:00 PM
