Mantis closeup

Uploaded: October 03, 2006

Description

Photographed in my garden in October 2006 with a Nikon D100 and Nikkor 60mm macro lens, settings unknown. Image cropped and processed with unsharp mask, levels and some gaussian blur of part of the background with Photoshop CS. This young mantis was stumbling uncertainly among my bonsai trees looking for a meal when he kindly posed for this closeup.
