Mike, I really like this! Great DOF and comp. I like the little bud at the bottom left being in focus too. #3191061Mike Rubin August 21, 2006
Thanks Carol #3196333Rachel E. Slepekis August 23, 2006
Nice focus and details, it is a little dark to me. But still a lovely shot : ) #3204910Mike Rubin August 23, 2006
Thank you Rachel. The original was a little too bright for my tastes but I may have overdone it when I edited it. #3205995Heather Thorsen August 29, 2006
A lovely picture.Heather #3239248

Thank you Heather. They say that the best time to shoot them is in the early AM when they are not warmed up form the night, although I was lucky to get this one mid-day, The odds were in my favor because ther were so many of them. #3241715William Johnson August 31, 2006
Whatever time of day it was Mike, this is just great-lovely colours and framing. Bill J. #3250001Ariel Lepor August 31, 2006
Nice shot and great comp and DOF! A little dark, but that can be corrected. I would suggest a wider aperture for the future, and even a slightly slower shutter speed would be okay.Ariel

Excellent capture Mike! The focus is wonderful! #3288070Mike Rubin September 09, 2006
Thanks Ariel and Allen. I chose the shutter speed based on the focal length along with the crop factor and having to hand hold the camera.Carol Teal October 30, 2006
Just happened to be checking in on your gallery and saw the discussion since I last commented. I have to ask you "Where was your tripod???" You can't leave it in the car (or at home either!) :D #3525869Mike Rubin October 31, 2006
Carol that is good advice BUT They were moving around too much for me to be able to get a composition with the tripod, too much up,down and to the side movement without staying in one spot long enough for me to quickly compose the shot w/the camera on my tripod. If I could only get my remote to control my tripod head :D #3526306Carol Teal October 31, 2006
You did do well with your handholding and I still like the butterfly. Did you ever work on the exposure as Dennis mentioned and did you like the results? #3527046Mike Rubin October 31, 2006
This is one that I keep reworking from the original RAW. #3529813John V. Roscich November 01, 2006
