wes. this photo is just too cool. it is one of most creative photos I have seen. I gotta ask... did you plan this to turn out this good or did you notice how synergized the forms and lines were after you took it?

awesome! #3413294

Wes Thomas 10/6/2006 6:25:19 AM

Denny, it was really an accident that it turned out this way. Let me explain. I've done long exposure train shots in the past, so I had an idea of what it was going to look like. I knew the bridge was going to create one set of lines and the train another, and the water tower, still another.

However, at the moment I snapped this shot (a 5-second exposure) several cars with horizontol logs passed by, creating the lines you see from the train. That was a lucky coincidence.

Also, I was using a Sigma 10-20mm lens, wide open at 10mm and was standing about 10 feet from the train, so that gave this shot a unique perspective. #3414646

This is a 5-second exposure of a train passing underneath a bridge. I love all of the converging lines in this shot.
