This is what I spend most of my time shooting, what do you think? #500187

I think it's great!! next time put the whole car in the photograph :) and clone out the pit crew! hope that didn't hurt to much. #3145679

Thank you Willard, No hurting here. LOL I am still working on the timing, you only have about 30 seconds to shoot the car in the air like this, some not even that long. I have just started working with removing people (pit crews and banners) with clone, it is fun to transform the photo to what you wish you could get (no people in the back) #3147560

Tell about timing I went to shoot a ball game. The shot would be late of I'd get so caught up in the game I'd miss some great shots.
I went there to see if I could get a home plate slide, never did get it. LOL #3149378

Too fast and too close, Tami. I don't know what your ISO and shutter settings were, but the car could just as easily been up on a jack as flying through the air, and having the rear off screen adds to the impression.
Using a slower shutter speed and panning with the car would have turned the background, the safety rails and the pit crew into a speed blur, and given a great impression of speed; moving back would have let you get the entire car into shot.
If I got this wrong and the car is propping at the take-off of a drag run, then you really need to have the rear in with those distorted, smoking tyres to convey the speed and power the car represents.

Having said all that, however, I know from experience how hard it can be, and that you got this in focus and (mostly) well framed is a real credit to you.

I like the way you shoot, Tami, so I dfefinately like the way you come back to shoot more! But shooting more the same way.... I have a mate who likes to remind that if you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got..... #3254123
