Pebble Gold

Description

Location: Cove Bay, Hopeman, Moray, Scotland.

A wonderful stony beach cascades steeply down into the glass clear waters in Cove Bay near Hopeman. The pale pebbles pick up the late afternoon sunlight and are painted gold. I got down as low as I could to emphasize their texture, they looked simply magnificent against an azure sky. The whole scene just screamed color and a polarizer ensured that color was rendered with astonishing clarity on Velvia film.

Thanks to everybody for there kind comments. The polariser I use is an exceptionally large one with a camera thread of 95mm this is because it needs to fit my widest diameter lens namely a 55-100 zoom for the Pentax 67. It is a Heliopan circular polariser with a built in 81 series warm up filter which just removes the very slight cool cast that the polariser tends to give a scene. This size of filter is costly at nearly £175.00 but is much cheaper in the smaller sizes. #3050251
