Description

One of many in my yard. I used an extension tube; first time ever.

However, I must shoot at four stops less than normal exposure. I start at minus two, then go to bracket mode to do + / - two again. Seems like a waste. But maybe it's a limitation in bright light. If anyone has ideas to get the exposure more normal, please let me know.

Fantastic job with this, Ken! I often will bracket my shots as well in difficult light conditions. I think that is the best way to assure a good image! It isn't a waste at all, as this awesome capture reflects! #3050507

I love the perspective and color in this photo.
Very pretty!
I use extension tubes quite a bit, Ken
I haven't noticed any effect on exposures.
I try to take macros in late evening with as even light as possible.
The tubes do tend to reduce DoF quite a bit, though

Ken, I really love the selective focus and the details you've captured here. Personally I find extension tubes wonderful with bright light. Under low light condition, I felt it very hard to focus. My lenses start hunting and I go crazy...lol. #3051635
