Patricia, I think the colors and patterns of these buildings are much more interesting than the boat! Love the umbrellas and all the windows. Sky could be a bit bluer. Bet this would be a fantastic late day shot, but it looks to have been a rainy day. Did you take more of these buildings? #5090

Hi Piper,
Yes, I was very disappointed in the color of the sky. I tried making it bluer in PS Elements but wasn't successful. And yes, it was a rainy day. I have a few more pictures of these buildings, a couple of which I will post soon. (I'm out of town for the rest of the week). The other pictures I took from this distance, without the action in the foreground, though, were a bit boring in comparison to this one. #7306

Hi Patricia, I've enjoyed your search for bold colors. In this shot I can't help but wonder what a closer perspective with a wide angle, taking out the boat would look like. The people umbrella's, and buildings are eye popping. I notice you use a Canon Elan 7e. I just bought one and love it. I'm fairly new at this, but learning fast...I think. Good work. #11552

Hi Branson, Yes, I enjoy bold colors very much. They make me happy. :-) I would love to have a wide angle lens, but will have to wait a while on that. I just got the Canon Elan 7E, with a 28-200 Canon lens, in February for my birthday, and that was an expensive proposition. I'm glad to hear you love the 7E; I enjoy mine too. I see in your gallery that you like color too; your nighttime and outdoor shots are incredible. By the way, check out the Travel/Place: Caribbean gallery here to see a couple more shots of those colorful Curacao buildings. "The Colors of Curacao" and "Crossing Queen Emma" shots show the buildings a tad closer up. Maybe if I can make some money at this photography thing, I can buy more lenses! I'm off to search for more color. Happy shooting! :-) #11568

I think you will be able to buy the wide angle soon enough if you continue your beautiful shots, you've definitly got the eye, and that is 95% of it. The other 5% is the Canon.lol I bought a Tamron 20x40mm aspherical lens for $499 plus tax shipping, etc, etc. It pays to shop as I have seen the same lens for as much as$749! Thanks for your feedback on my gallery, I too would like to make a little money at this, as I'm retiring in Jan 2003. #11587
